So I'm not sure yet, but I may be changing my blog site. I'm just going through a bit of a trial run right now, and after several trials I'll let you know the final verdict. Please feel free to let me know your thoughts on either this blog, or on the other (HERE!!!). Anyway, I hope the extended weekend goes off without a hitch! Enjoy!

I spy...
...about half a dozen deer, in all different spots of the trail...
...and almost the entire ride, I had a grass hopper literally hitching a ride on my pedal. It had to have been very dizzy from the spinning of the pedals!

Beautiful lyrics...
This song has been on my mind a lot lately and thought I'd share it with you...
It's called Beautiful Disaster by Jon McLaughlin, and if you get a chance listen to it, because it's really a beautiful song and I think speaks to so many young women nowadays...
Hates the sound that goodbyes make.
She prays one day she'll find someone to need her.
She swears that there's no difference,
Between the lies and compliments.
It's all the same if everybody leaves her.
And every magazine tells her she's not good enough,
The pictures that she sees make her cry.
And she would change everything, everything just ask her.
Caught in the in between, a beautiful disaster,
And she just needs someone to take her home.
She's giving boys what they want, tries to act so nonchalant,
Afraid they'll see that she's lost her direction.
She never stays the same for long,
Assuming that she'll get it wrong.
Perfect only in her imperfections.
She's not a drama queen,
She doesn't want to feel this way, only seventeen but tired
She would change everything for happy ever after.
Caught in the in between, a beautiful disaster,
But she just needs someone to take her home.
Cuz she's just the way she is, but no ones told her that's ok.
And she would change everything, everything just ask her.
Caught in the in between of beautiful disaster,
And she would change everything for happy ever after.
Caught in the in between of beautiful disaster,
But she just needs someone to take her home
And she just needs someone to take her home.

Changes...
Well, I've decided to make a change to my future classes, and eventual start date for the DC program as well. Initially I was planning on starting the DC program in Jan 2009. Which would mean that I would have an incredibly heavy load of classes until I start, as well as tacking on undergrad classes to my DC course work once I am half way through. So I thought and prayed about my options for a while and came up with my decision to start the DC program in May 2009, and spread out the undergrad classes I still need to take. Being that all of these are science classes, it's best that I don't have to overload my schedule. This doesn't mean that I'll have light courses, but it's better than it would have been at least!

A crazy but great weekend...
So on my flight home I sat next to a Colonel in the Army of 27 years! We talked the entire time we were on the plane and had some of the most amazing conversations I've had in a while (with a perfect stranger of course!). On my next leg of the trip I was sitting at the gate waiting for the flight and a guy sits next to me and asks about Notre Dame because of the shirt I was wearing. Anyway, so I shortly after learned that he was from China and this was his first time over to the US. What was even more amazing is that I was the first person to actually talk to him from the US, which was really cool. He was on his way to start the MBA program at Notre Dame so once we made it to our final destination we talked a little longer and help him on his way.
The weekend was great, and the wedding was so beautiful! It was one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever experienced. Literally everyone was so happy for the new coulple, I think everyone was ear to ear with smiles the entire time. The only unfortunate thing is that my flight was scheduled for that evening and we had to drive 2 hours to the airport to catch a direct flight.
Anyway, so we leave with plenty of time and then off on the road we went...So we were on the way and then...a HUGE traffic jam. My flight was scheduled to leave at 9:55pm and it was really starting to get tight. As the time passed and the miles did not, I really was getting worried that I wouldn't make the flight. I called a friend of mine and had her check the status of my flight...DELAYED!!! until 10:25pm. So things are looking like I'll be able to make it, but just barely. So we end up getting to the airport and I run in and check my bag and get my ticket. However when I was checking in, I realized that I only had my student ID, and not my license, which was still in my mom's purse from the wedding! So I called my parents and had them swing back around and drop it off to me.
I ran out to the car, grabbed my license and then ran to the security check point. I already had my shoes untied and ready to go, so I put my stuff on the belt and walked through, all good. I collected my belongings, and started to sprint, yes I literally was sprinting, and I hadn't even put my shoes back on! So I have my back pack on, bag over my shoulder, holding my shoes running for my gate. I get there and find out that the plane still hasn't even arrived yet for us to board. So this gave me time to put my shoes on and get a drink of water and call my parents to let them know that I made the flight.
So the flight finally take off around 10:40pm, and all is good. We land and I wait for my luggage...and wait, and wait, and nothing! So I go to the baggage claim area to try and figure out where my luggage might be. They said that because it was a late check that it probably didn't make the plane and that it will be on the first flight tomorrow and that I can pick it up tomorrow afternoon. Today I call and check to make sure that it was indeed there, and then drove to the airport to pick up my belongings. All is good now!

Perspectives...
So I know it's been a while since I posted anything here, but I've been a little busy with moving, and school, etc. Anyway, things are going pretty well, but it's so much more than I could have imagined, or really even prepared myself for. I've been absolutely amazed in so many different areas of my life, and have already learned so much. One of those areas is that I need to re-assess my priorities (move studying way up for one thing!), as well as taking a look, and possibly moving in my rumble strips and guard rails. I need to pay more attention of how close I get to the edge, or now, to these preliminary cautions, and actually do something when I see/hear these warning signs.
On a different note, I have been working out a bunch which has been a great way to keep me focused as well as keep me on a set schedule too! Plus as an added bonus I'm getting back in shape, and I love being toned up and ready to race at a moments notice. I actually might run a half marathon this Oct., but much of that will depend on how studying goes. Okay, well that's all for now...
